The Cooler Keg does not use store-bought kegs. It comes with two refillable wide-mouth kegs (about 6.7 L each). Fill them with beer, mixed drinks, cocktails, mocktails, seltzers, soft drink, hot drinks, whatever you like. The options are endless.

Our favourite line: the kegs do not care. Beer, mixed drinks, craft cocktails, soft drink, sparkling water, hard seltzers, mocktails, hot drinks. If it is a beverage, it will come out on draft. Carbonated drinks stay lively with CO2. For still batched cocktails, leave the kegs unpressurised until you are ready to serve. Want bubbles from a still mix? Fill the keg, max the pressure, wait 3 to 4 days, and you will have a sparkling pour.

Each keg holds about 6.7 L. That is roughly 19 standard beers, though 18 is the sweet spot in real life. Across both kegs you are looking at up to about 36 x 355 ml beers, 90 x 150 ml mixed drinks, or 144 fancy 90 ml cocktails.

One CO2 cartridge has enough pressure to empty both kegs, with leftover for cleaning the system. That changes if someone keeps pulling the tap on an empty keg (wasting gas) or if you force-carbonate a still drink over a few days, which uses CO2 in the carbonation process.

Yes and no. Freshness depends on how you fill. Beer usually stays tasting good for about 2 to 4 weeks. If a local brewery CO2-purges before filling, you can stretch toward a month. If you open cans or bottles to fill, oxygen exposure is higher and you are closer to about two weeks. Always pressurise and purge the headspace as soon as you fill. That cuts oxygen exposure. Honestly though, most of us fill and finish within a few days. Relax and enjoy the draft.

Short answer: yes. Nitro needs nitrogen cartridges, a high-pressure regulator and a nitro tap. Cartridge nitro gets pricey fast if you are pouring a full keg of stout or nitro cold brew. Another path is modifying the cooler with rear couplings and running a larger external nitrogen tank. Bulkier, but much kinder on cost per pour. The Cooler Keg includes 4 custom ice packs that sit snug around the kegs. Frozen solid, they keep fridge-cold kegs colder than the fridge for about 24 hours at around 24 C in the shade, or up to about 12 hours in direct 35 C sun. Need longer, or forgot to freeze the packs? Fill the cooler with ice. Everything inside is plastic and stainless steel, so ice is fine, and there is a standard drain on the side.

Absolutely. You get custom ice packs, and good old ice works too. Ice will not hurt anything, and the cooler has a standard side drain.

The drink in the kegs is chilled by the ice packs. As it pours, cold liquid cools the lines and taps on the way out. You will often see condensation on the taps because the pour is that cold. Even if the tower is a touch warmer, the whole draft line holds less than about 15 ml, so it barely moves the needle on a full pour.

The tower is insulated and open to the cold air inside the cooler. It is about 30 cm tall. If it runs a little warmer, there is still less than about 15 ml of drink sitting in the line.

Yes. The draft tower twists off and stows inside the cooler for easy transport.

About 61 cm wide, 42 cm tall and 41 cm deep. Add about 30 cm of height with the draft tower on. Roughly 20 kg empty and about 34 kg full. Similar to a cooler packed with ice and cans.

Yes. When you do not need draft, pull the gear out, pop the plug in the lid, and use it like any other picnic cooler.

Rinse with water, clean with PBW, then sanitise with Star San. Finish with a CO2 or air flush.

It arrives mostly assembled. The taps are not attached yet. They use a threaded collar and a tool is included to tighten them. After that, fill the kegs, fit a CO2 cartridge, and you are on.

There is an included wrench for tightening the taps. Beyond that, no. The Cooler Keg is built for tool-free use day to day. The tower twists onto the cooler, and the draft and CO2 lines connect to the kegs with four quick clicks.

You generally have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return, provided it is unused and in original packaging with proof of purchase.
